Get Involved

If you are interested in joining the CARE team in making a difference in the New Haven community, we offer many exciting, hands-on opportunities to work with and learn how to make a difference, together.

CARE has a limited number of paid internships for both undergraduate and graduate students. If you are interested in any of CARE’s work, please contact us about an internship opportunity!

We also offer an exciting Health Equity Fellowship program for students in our community.

Health Equity Fellowship

Through the Health Equity Fellowship Program in partnership with the Office of Public Health Practice (OPHP) at the Yale School of Public Health, we offer students a unique opportunity to gain invaluable work experience in Greater New Haven.

The fellowship pairs students with community-based organizations and projects, providing them with hands-on exposure to public health work. Alongside their work with community partners, students also participate in weekly critical reflection sessions, facilitated by CARE.

To date, we have supported 25 Health Equity Fellows, fostering equitable practices and increasing capacity in local organizations. By providing students with this transformative experience, we're investing in a future where health equity is at the forefront of public health initiatives. Together, we're building a strong and diverse network of leaders who are passionate about creating healthier communities.

CARE was founded on the principle of community engagement. Our goal is to help find and cultivate change-makers within communities most impacted by health inequities and bring their voices to the table to make real and meaningful change in our communities. We offer several resident opportunities through CFAN, the Breast/Chestfeeding Taskforce, and our Health Leadership Programs
